Composition: Ondansetron Tablets IP (4mg)

Therapeutic Category: Serotonin (5HT- 3) receptor antagonist

Mechanism of Action: Ondansetron is known to cause selective antagonism of 5-HT3 receptors on neurons located in either PNS or CNS or both, demonstrating its action as an anti-emetic.

Indications:

Indicated for the prevention of nausea and vomiting caused by cancer chemotherapy, radiation therapy and surgery (prevention and treatment of post-operative nausea and vomiting) Also used to halt nausea and vomiting due to an unknown cause, in morning sickness (Off-label)

Dosage: 4-8mg twice daily
