Product Category:
Anti-allergic & Anti-asthmatics
Composition:
Montelukast Sodium and Levocetirizine Hydrochloride Tablets IP (10mg and 5mg)
Therapeutic Category:
Leukotriene receptor antagonist and H1-Antihistamine
Mechanism of Action:
Montelukast binds to CysLT1 receptors with high selectivity, blocking effects associated with CysLT1 receptors activation including airway bronchoconstriction, occluding mucous secretion, vascular permeability, eosinophil recruitment, and smooth muscle proliferation in asthma, as well as congested nose in allergic rhinitis. Hence, resulting in bronchodilation, reduced mucous secretion and inflammation. Levocetirizine selectively binds to histamine H1 receptors, acts as an inverse agonist at the receptors and hence opposes the associated effects like hives, itchy skin, red eyes, facial swelling, nasal congestion, difficulty in breathing, or asthma attacks (Allergy like symptoms) caused due to H1 receptor activation.
Indications:
Used for the improvement of daytime and nighttime symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis like nasal congestion, stuffiness, sneezing, itching and rhinorrhea.

One tablet at bedtime or as directed by physician
