Mechanism of Action: The combination of Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide, Chlorpheniramine Maleate, and Phenylephrine Hydrochloride acts synergistically to relieve symptoms of cough, cold, and nasal congestion. Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide is a cough suppressant that acts on the medullary cough center in the brain to reduce the urge to cough without causing respiratory depression. Chlorpheniramine Maleate is a first-generation antihistamine (H1 receptor blocker) that helps reduce allergic symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, and watery eyes by inhibiting histamine action. It also has mild sedative effects. Phenylephrine Hydrochloride is a selective α1-adrenergic receptor agonist that causes vasoconstriction in the nasal mucosa, reducing swelling and congestion, thereby improving airflow. Together, these three drugs provide comprehensive relief from cold and flu symptoms, combining cough suppression, allergy symptom relief, and nasal decongestion in a single formulation.

Indications:

1) Dextromethorphan Hydro bromide (15mg) – Cough Suppressant

Helps reduce dry, non-productive cough by acting on the cough center in the brain.

2) Chlorpheniramine Maleate (2mg) – Antihistamine

Relieves allergy symptoms like sneezing, runny nose, and itchy/watery eyes by blocking histamine action.

3) Phenylephrine Hydrochloride (5mg) – Nasal Decongestant

Reduces nasal congestion and sinus pressure by constricting blood vessels in the nasal passages.

Dosage:

For Adults & Children above 12 Years

Dosage: 10 mL (2 teaspoons) every 4–6 hours as needed.

Maximum Daily Dose: Do not exceed 60 mL (12 teaspoons) per day.

For Children (6–12 Years)

Dosage: 5 mL (1 teaspoon) every 4–6 hours as needed.

Maximum Daily Dose: Do not exceed 30 mL (6 teaspoons) per day.

For Children below 6 Years

Use only under medical supervision.
