CLOBEST CREAM

Clotrimazole (1%)

Product Category: Anti-fungal agents

Composition: Clotrimazole (1%)

Therapeutic Category: Anti-fungal

Mechanism of Action: Clotrimazole 1% cream works by disrupting fungal cell membranes through ergosterol inhibition. It blocks the enzyme lanosterol 14α-demethylase, preventing ergosterol synthesis, which weakens the membrane and causes leakage of essential components, leading to fungal cell death. It is effective against Candida, dermatophytes (Trichophyton, Microsporum), and Malassezia furfur, making it useful for skin and vaginal fungal infections.
