Mechanism of Action: Calcium and Calcitriol tablets is a fixed combination of calcium and Calcitriol. This product enables sufficient absorption of calcium with a limited number of doses. As an active form of vitamin D3, calcitriol elevates the plasma levels of calcium by stimulating intestinal calcium uptake, increasing reabsorption of calcium by the kidneys, and possibly increasing the release of calcium from skeletal stores. Supplementation with calcium and vitamin D3 corrects latent vitamin D deficiency and secondary hyperparathyroidism.

Indications:

It is indicated in the following conditions: - Used to treat vitamin D deficiency or insufficiency, refractory rickets (vitamin D resistant rickets), familial hypophosphatemia and hypoparathyroidism, and in the management of hypocalcemia and renal osteodystrophy in patients with chronic renal failure undergoing dialysis. - Also used in conjunction with calcium in the management and prevention of primary or corticosteroid-induced osteoporosis.

Dosage:

Adults and Elderly -1 tablet daily or as directed by registered physician. Children: -Not recommended for children under 1 year. Dosage in hepatic impairment -No dose adjustment is required Dosage in renal impairment -Calcipan CT tablets should not be used in patients with severe renal impairment. Dosage during pregnancy -Should not be used during pregnancy.
