Mechanism of Action: Silodosin is an alpha-1 adrenergic receptor antagonist that selectively blocks the alpha-1 receptors in the prostate, bladder neck, and urethra. By doing so, it relaxes the smooth muscles in these areas, improving urinary flow and reducing symptoms associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).

Indications:

Indicated for the treatment of the signs and symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in adult males.

Dosage:

The dosage and administration should be determined by a healthcare professional. Typically, the recommended dose is one capsule of Alphasil 8 orally once daily with a meal. The safety and effectiveness of silodosin in children younger than 18 years of age haven’t been established.
