Ondansetron Oral Solution IP (2mg/5ml in 30ml)

Therapeutic Category:

Serotonin (5HT- 3) receptor antagonist

Mechanism of Action:

Ondansetron is known to cause selective antagonism of 5-HT3 receptors on neurons located in either PNS or CNS or both, demonstrating its action as an anti-emetic.

Indications:

Indicated for the prevention of nausea and vomiting caused by cancer chemotherapy, radiation therapy and surgery (prevention and treatment of post-operative nausea and vomiting). Also used to halt nausea and vomiting due to an unknown cause (Off-label)

Dosage:

6 Months and above: 0.15mg/kg OR as directed by the physician
